Traffic jams at Waterlooville retail park cause mayhem
Traffic snarled up at Wellington Retail Park in Waterlooville yesterday lunchtime and into the afternoon.
Reginald Durnell, 70, from Purbrook, was caught up in the mayhem at 12.30pm after he went to buy some bird feed from Home Bargains.

He said: ‘It’s no wonder I didn’t have another heart attack. The council has given planning permission for that site. It really annoys me that they have moved all the shops into that retail park and there’s no escape.’
He also raised concerns about emergency vehicles getting into the site at busy times. Waterloo ward councillor Paul Buckley said he had received similar complaints on other days, and that the borough council was increasingly concerned at queues backing up on to the roundabout of people trying to get in.
The retail park was contacted but did not respond in time.
