Two men arrested on suspicion of murder after two people stabbed in Leigh Park

Police were called at 11pm last night (May 23) to a disturbance on Tichborne Grove, Leigh Park, where they found a man and woman who had both been stabbed.
Ambulance crews attended but unfortunately the 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide AdA 27-year-old woman from Southsea was taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment where her injuries are described as serious but not life-threatening.
Residents living on the street described hearing screaming shortly before police officers arrived.
A 31-year-old man from Hayling Island and a 25-year-old man from Camborne in Cornwall have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in custody.
Detective inspector Lee McClellan from Hampshire Constabulary’s Major Crime Unit, said: ‘We would like to reassure the public that we believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no wider risk to the community.

The deceased’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
