Fans from both Pompey and Arsenal have been taking to Twitter to express their views on the FA Cup fifth-round draw.

The Blues will welcome Mikel Arteta’s Gunners to Fratton Park in the week commencing Monday, March 2.

It will represent the first meeting between the two sides in more than 10 years, with Arsenal’s 4-1 Premier League win over Pompey at PO4 in December 2009 the last time they met.

The game will also see Kenny Jackett’s side take on a top-flight outfit for the first time in three years, after Bournemouth knocked the Blues out of the FA Cup in the 2015-16 fourth round.

Pompey’s last foray into the fifth round came during the 2009-10 season – the year the Blues reached the final, only to be beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at Wembley.

And as they prepare to host one of the Premier League’s so-called ‘big boys’, the tie has generated a lot of excitement on the south coast.
